Award winning drum virtuoso/author/clinician Pat Gesualdo single handedly revolutionized the drumming industry, and the Special Education Curriculum throughout the world. With the help of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Administration, Gesualdo launched his celebrated Non-Profit Organization DAD (Drums and Disabilities), and his groundbreaking Drum Therapy’ techniques, as a special education pilot program in several New York City schools and communities in 2004.

Now, Psychologists, School Systems, Behavioral Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Teachers in the U.S., Bosnia, London, New Zealand, India, Kenya, Slovena, Monrovia, Italy, and other countries, use Gesualdo’s groundbreaking Drum Therapy’ techniques, and the DAD Program, to help Autistic and Special Needs children and adults develop Vocal Communication, Retention, Coordination, Self Esteem, and Physical and Cognitive Functioning. DAD is certified by the New Jersey State Department of Education as an official CEU teacher-training program.

Various Celebrities, Sports Stars, Politicians, and Major Corporations have joined forces with Gesualdo in his effort to help children fight disabilities throughout the world. Some include Senator Anthony Bucco, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Administration, the Morris County Park Police, the NY Giants, the WWE Superstars, The Star Ledger Newspaper, The New Jersey Education Association, Pepsi-Cola, The New Jersey Nets, Hasbro Toys, Zildjian Cymbals, Pro Mark Drumsticks, Live Nation, Modern Drummer Magazine, and Sony Music Entertainment among others.

Gesualdo was invited to the White House to meet President George W. Bush, in an effort to help expand his DAD Program to wounded troops in Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and in Veterans Administration facilities throughout the United States. He was also invited by President Barack Obama’s Administration to take part In an official Obama Administration event, to help expand the DAD Program.

The WWE, and the NY Giants have also made a donation to the New York City Schools, on behalf of the DAD program. Various WWE and NY Giants Superstars, and several Politicians joined DAD Founder Pat Gesualdo at the Meadowlands Continental Airlines Arena, at a live televised WWE event, to announce the DAD Program, and present the donation to New York City School Officials.

The New Jersey Nets also teamed up with Gesualdo and his DAD Program, and held a very special event at the Izod Arena in the Meadowlands. This event was held for 200 special needs children enrolled in the Bergen County School System’s DAD Program Curriculum.

Gesualdo performs and lectures in world clinic and lecture tours at Major Universities, Music Industry Seminars, and Health and Education Conferences on a Global basis. Some include NAMM, NEMO, the Learning Disabilities Association of America, The Mayor’s Health Conferences throughout the United States, PASIC, Autism Speaks, and Autism Awareness Month among others.

Gesualdo, who beat his own severe battle with a disability as a child, is also a drum virtuoso, and has performed/recorded for various Columbia, Sony, Warner Brothers, Atlantic, RCA, and Paramount Pictures artists and special projects, and has worked on various industry projects with members of Deep Purple, Kiss, Quiet Riot, Halford, and the Metropolitan Opera, among others.

He has won numerous awards and honors, holds a certificate of music education, and was nominated to Who's Who in America, and as an associate voting member for the Grammy Awards. He has an exclusive Drum Therapy column for Modern Drummer Magazine, and his research has been featured in numerous Journals and Magazines. He is the Author of "The Parent’s Guide To Learning Disabilities," and "The Art of Drum Therapy."
